Welcome to
The Degenerate Gambler
Survivor Pool
Get ready for a magical NFL kickoff! On Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at 8:20 p.m., the New England Patriots will be packing their playbooks and ruby cleats to follow the yellow brick road straight to “The Emerald City.” Standing at the gates? None other than the reigning Super Bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks, ready to defend their crown and possibly hand out some enchanted interceptions. Toto, we’re not in Foxborough anymore!
The entry fee is $10.00.
Entrants are allowed a maximum of 3 entries.
All fees are due by week 3. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Entrants who have not paid by week 3 will be locked and eliminated. If an entrant has not paid by week 3 and wishes to continue, double ($20) the entry fee is due before the start of Thursday’s week 4 game. You will also lose your mulligan.
The pool starts with Week 1 and runs through the Super Bowl.
Entrants pick one team each week they think will win their game outright. Picks are made “straight up,” not using a point spread system.
You must get your pick in by the weekly deadline of Sunday 1:00 p.m. ET*. If choosing a Thursday Night or early game, picks must be in before the start of said game. All picks will be hidden until the game has begun (for early games) or until the first game on Sunday.
Each entrant has 3 automatic picks. If an entrant misses a weekly pick, an auto pick will be generated for them. The default auto-pick setting is set to random. Each entrant will choose their own auto-pick preference when they join. If an entrant does not enter a pick after 3 automatic picks are used, they will be eliminated.
You pick one team to win each week. If they lose, you are eliminated.
Each entrant has 1 automatic mulligan (do-over) through the regular 18-week season. The team picked will not be available to use again. No mulligan (do-over) will be issued if you make it past the regular season. Use it or lose it.
Teams can only be picked once over the course of the regular season. Pick wisely.
You will only be able to pick against a team 5 times. So picking against Cleveland and Tennessee the whole season will no longer work.
If the contest reaches the postseason, team-use counts and pick history reset, and every team is available to pick again.
If a game your picked team is playing in results in a tie, your pick will be incorrect, and your entry will be eliminated.
If remaining entrants are eliminated in the same week after all mulligans are used, rather than ending the pool with no winner, the pool is revived. The last round of entrants to have been eliminated advance and continue playing. The teams picked will not be available to be picked again.
